There is also an Application Programming Interface (API) using JSON/REST or SOAP, available from a variety of programming languages. These services allow units to assign and track IP addresses for computers, printers, IP phones, or other devices in an easy-to-use web interface via BlueCat Address Manager (BAM, formerly Proteus) and DNS/DHCP (BDDS, formerly Adonis). The university hostmaster provides these services at no additional cost as part of the larger networking services on campus. Like with all domain name registrars, Google Domains charges varying fees depending on the domain name extension you pick. University ServicesīlueCat Networks is the vendor U-M uses for a consolidated DHCP/DNS/IPAM solution. Phase 2, which we intend to complete by the close of 2021, is DNSSEC Zone Signing, which includes adding digital signatures to all U-M DNS records. DNS Security Extension validation increases U-M security by ensuring the validity of DNS lookup and DNS records. Historically, DNS has had no way of verifying IP addresses' authenticity, which puts users at risk of intentionally being sent to fraudulent pages. If you find that you are unable to make these changes yourself or need further assistance, please contact the support team at Google. Once this is done you should be able to go ahead and add the DNS records in. You should be able to do this in your DNS section -> Click on the site and choose to disconnect the domain. Note: If you get a warning and/or you are unable to add these records in and your domain name is previously connected to an old website you will first need to disconnect your domain name from this site. These changes may take 1 - 4 hours to propagate throughout the web.
